If Sex Really Sells, This Should Be Gone in a Jiffy
This pretty much jumps off the screen (and the shelf?). This is from contributor Amber Fries, who said: “There are several ways this label can be construed, and none of them have much to do with the wine inside.” The wine is barely mentioned. If sex really sells, this may well prove it.

Thanks DC and good to see you. But ‘fess up. Aren’t you some kind of Photoshop, graphic design expert? If so, would you consider this label to be high art or low schlock?

It is BOTH high art and low schlock to me. I love it because it’s so fresh and memorable.

Looking at the graphic design and the labeling being that of wine, possibly it speaks of ‘vintage’ since that is the era this type of art category would fall. Just a thought… If nothing else, this is the type of bottle I would pick up off a shelf, give it a whirl for the heck of it for the label alone and then keep as a display type. That is what marketing is all about.

Doesn’t this speak to the wine’s “full body?”

I am impressed by these labels. They work, especially now as that style of artwork is back in style. There is a whole new paperback series of short novels that use similar artwork. These labels certainly grab your attention much better than a fuzzy little animal.

Yes. There are an enormous number of “fuzzy little animal labels.” Even if you narrow it down to dogs, the number is surprisingly huge.
